Hixson Captures Lead Early To Defeat Red Bank Lions
Red Bank Lions fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 7-4 loss to Hixson on Saturday. Hixson scored on a single by Markym and a single in the second inning.
Red Bank Lions captured the lead in the first inning. Murphy Emery doubled on a 3-1 count in the first inning, scoring one run.
Hixson took the lead for good with four runs in the second inning. In the second Markym singled off of Madox Wilkey, driving in one run and #4 singled off of Wilkey, driving in three runs.
Layne earned the win for Hixson. He tossed five and two-thirds innings, giving up zero runs, one hit, and striking out five. Wilkey took the loss for Red Bank Lions. He pitched five and a third innings, surrendering seven runs, 11 hits, and striking out three.
Moylan started the game for Hixson. He threw one and one-third innings, giving up four runs, two hits, and striking out one.
Emery, Colt Bailey, and Sam Livingston each drove in one run to lead Red Bank Lions. Red Bank Lions was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Austin Culpepper had the most chances in the field with five.
Hixson collected 11 hits. Markym, Davis, and Weaver each collected multiple hits for Hixson. Hixson was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Julian made the most plays with six.
