Red Bank Lions Takes High-Scoring Game From Tyner Academy
Bats were blistered as Red Bank Lions defeated Tyner Academy 10-8 on Monday.
Red Bank Lions captured the lead in the first inning. With one out in the first inning Madox Wilkey drove in one run when he doubled.
In the bottom of the first inning, Tyner Academy tied things up at one. Tyner Academy scored one run when Keynote Halfacre singled with zero outs in the first inning.
Red Bank Lions took the lead for good with three runs in the third inning. In the third there was an error, scoring two runs and there was an error, scoring one run.
Red Bank Lions scored three runs in the fifth inning. Red Bank Lions’s big inning was driven by a double by Chaz Eich and a walk.
Austin Culpepper earned the win for Red Bank Lions. He threw four innings, giving up six runs, four hits, and striking out four. Eich threw two and a third innings, as two relievers helped Red Bank Lions finish off the victory. Brett Simonson recorded the last two outs to earn the save for Red Bank Lions. Evan Houstan took the loss for Tyner Academy. He tossed five innings, giving up nine runs, ten hits, and striking out eight.
Red Bank Lions collected 11 hits. Eich, Izak Sullivan, and Colt Bailey each collected multiple hits for Red Bank Lions. Eich went 3-for-5 at the plate as he led the team with four runs batted in.
