Marion County Captures Lead Early To Defeat Red Bank Lions
Red Bank Lions fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 7-1 loss to Marion County on Wednesday. Marion County took the lead on a passed ball in the second inning.
Red Bank Lions lost despite out-hitting Marion County nine to three.
Marion County captured the lead in the second inning.
Marion County scored four runs in the third inning. The big inning for Marion County came thanks to a single by Smith, a walk by Logan Bunt, and a passed ball.
Smith earned the win for Marion County. He tossed six innings, surrendering one run, eight hits, striking out six, and walking one. Izak Sullivan took the loss for Red Bank Lions. He pitched two and two-thirds innings, surrendering five runs, one hit, and striking out three.
Red Bank Lions collected nine hits. Sullivan and Taelon Hall each collected multiple hits for Red Bank Lions. Sullivan went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Red Bank Lions in hits.
Smith went 1-for-3 at the plate as he led the team with two runs batted in. Marion County didn’t commit a single error in the field. Barton had the most chances in the field with seven.
